In today’s press conference, Las Vegas Sheriff Joseph Lombardo retracted his earlier statements and told the public that Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino security guard Jesus Campos was shot on October 1st at 9:59 PM, a full six minutes before gunman Stephen Paddock opened fire into country music concert crowd below:

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and FBI had originally stated that Campos bravely approached Paddock’s 32nd-floor suite after hearing the gunfire. According to the earlier narrative, Campos was attempting to enter the hotel room when Paddock shot through the door and hit him in the upper thigh.
However, this new revelation completely disproves the previously accepted notion that Campos’ actions played a role in interrupting Paddock’s gunfire:
What the heck?
All week they told us the security guard is why he STOPPED shooting
There were timelines… https://t.co/sUkeOokX61

This directly contradicts what the sheriff had been saying: that the arrival of the security guard essentially stopped the shooting. https://t.co/wTY5eKa2hJ

Rather, Lombardo asserted in today’s press conference that Campos came up to the 32nd floor because of a seemingly unrelated door alarm that went off down the hall. This twist, which Lombardo referred to as a “minute change,” has left many confused:
Dude, this is not a "minute change", this is colossal.

If Paddock shot the security guard first and then unleashed on the crowd, why in Hell did the cops wait 70 minutes to enter his hotel room?

If security was shot BEFORE he fired on the concert more security/cops would've been there in minutes + police scanner doesn't support this.

Some even called for the immediate release of the Mandalay Bay hotel’s security tapes:
Enough of this changing timelines nonsense, release the footage. https://t.co/5j09nt790t

GotNews previously reported on how a senior official from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives claimed to GotNews that the ATF is investigating the possibility of Campos having been an accomplice of Paddock’s, given the large amount of gunpowder residue found on Campos’ hands. The ATF has disputed the claims made in that GotNews article, and a frustrated Lombardo reiterated in today’s press conference that he still believes there was only one shooter:
The Sheriff looks to be frustrated because GotNews leaked the stuff about the guard maybe having residue.
