Michelle Obama was lying about a racist incident at her September 29, 2011 trip to Target in a People Magazine story, Gotnews.com has learned.
The careful orchestrated press event occurred in Alexandria, Virginia’s Route 1 Target store.
Obama has told two different, conflicting accounts about her Target experience.
The first time she claimed she helped someone because of her height in a 2012 appearance with David Letterman.
Now she’s claiming there was a racist incident in People Magazine.
She is also lying about having any interactions with customers.
In fact, the store was under strict control by the Secret Service according to Politico.
Here’s what Politico wrote about the incident. Note the use of the word “lockdown.” Note also how controlled the media response is.
The subsequent lockdown at Target in Alexandria, meanwhile, is about what it’s like at the White House after someone jumps the fence.
No media were allowed in the store without permission, and employees were not allowed to speak with reporters. Television cameras had to get clearance from corporate headquarters even to film outside the store. Once permission was secured to shoot pictures inside, Target allowed filming for no more than 20 minutes, and in only two aisles chosen by the store — and no pictures of cash registers.
Only the store manager was allowed to speak for the company, and only over the telephone.
“It was so quick,” Maria Panagopulos, store manager, told WJLA-TV, which is owned by the parent company of POLITICO. “We only realized it was her at the end of her visit. She was incognito. The team was really excited. We hadn’t had an Obama family member since the beginning of his term as far as we are aware.”
Gotnews.com reached out to Ms. Panagopulos at her home in suburban Virginia and will update you if and when she responds.
Earlier this year there were major security concerns when President Obama was on an elevator with a man with a gun.
Are we really to believe that the security for the First Lady is so lax that she could be within arm’s reach of a civilian?
Other Twitter users also noted how implausible the story was.
