Gotnews.com has confirmed that Brian Williams lied about an incident aboard an Israeli helicopter during the 2006 Hezbollah rockets and “some four star.”
Here‘s the video in case Viacom takes it down.
Here’s a transcript.
Stewart: Were you protected in the Lebanon? Did they just leave you out in the hills? What was the situation?
Williams: Yeah, I’m protected. I wear what’s called level five body armor, which is the best you can get. We are in an armored vehicle. You take all the precautions you can take. The company is not going to allow me to go over there unprotected. But these Katyuska rockets, the bottle rockets you and I shot off as kids have a better guidance system than these Katyuskas.
Williams: They go all over the countryside. Half of Northern Israel is a forest fire because land and they explode and they’re scary as all get out in that way.
Stewart: What do the guys say to you when you’re there? Are they talking to you? Is it propaganda? You know we saw these stories that Reuters had doctored photos. Do you get the sense that anything going on there is being manufactured for your benefit?
Williams: No, it’s too real. No one has time. We’re up in an Israeli military Blackhawk helicopter. Here’s a view of rockets I’ve never seen–passing underneath us. Fifteen hundred feet beneath us. You know, and we’ve got the gunner doors on this thing. And I’m saying to the general–some 4 star. ‘So if we’re 1500 feet it wouldn’t take much to adjust the aim & try to do ring toss through our open doors would it?’ They’re firing real bullets over there. Anytime you want to cross over to the other side, travel with me.
