While Bill DeBlasio’s father appeased Adolf Hitler, Bill DeBlasio appeased Robert Mugabe and flew the black nationalist flag.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Council Speaker Gifford Miller and many other council members and city officials steered clear of the event in protest at what they called Mugabe’s “deeply troubling” human rights record but DeBlasio made common cause with Black Panther-turned-New York City councilman Charles Barron and attended.
Barron is also a vocal supporter of slave reparations. “I want to go up to the closest white person and say, ‘You can’t understand this, it’s a black thing’ and then slap him, just for my mental health,” Barron said a month before Mugabe’s visit.

Controversial journolist David Weigel defended DeBlasio attending the Mugabe event because DeBlasio allegedly apologized for it in 2008.
Not boycotting Mugabe was dumb, but given that de Blasio apologized five years ago, what's the story? http://t.co/y90vheevFe
