The video by Pod Awful claiming to show evidence of “the #PizzaGate tunnels” by pedophile child traffickers in Washington, D.C. is a complete and deliberate hoax, as I will show below:
— ☠(((POD AWFUL)))☠ (@PodAwful) December 6, 2016
The full Pod Awful video with over 37,000 views, which they claim is the only footage they have, can be seen here:
The first 2/3 of the video are pretty innocuous and even interesting. Pod Awful is definitely checking out Comet Ping Pong and Besta Pizza. They even get clear video footage of a staircase leading underground at Besta Pizza.
However, nobody ever claimed Besta Pizza did not have a basement. That was Comet Ping Pong, the other restaurant. Still, if they ended the video there, it would’ve been a cool, interesting video of citizen journalism about #PizzaGate.
But then they decided to hoax their audience: the last 1/3 of the video is a total, complete, 100% deliberate, misleading, lying fraud.
To begin with, let’s take a look at what Pod Awful shows in their video:
They show you quick jump cuts leading you to believe that they are entering a “side door” in an “alley” near the Chevy Chase Pediatrics Center — very close to Besta Pizza and Comet Ping Pong — in Washington, D.C.:
The next clip, in the dark, shows them entering what looks like an underground entrance next to the hospital:
They selectively edit their footage once “inside” and imply that the area has “never seen maintenance”:
They then show footage of some abandoned furniture, splicing it between clips of the “underground” area and lead you to believe that the furniture is in an underground area that “smells like death”:
The video then abruptly ends.
All in all, you are left thinking they discovered an abandoned underground area next to or directly underneath a children’s hospital with a horrible smell and some suspicious furniture. Could it be a pedo lair? The comments section on their video, where Pod Awful is asking for donations, sure seems to think so.
Pod Awful even tried to submit this fraudulent video as evidence to collect a crowdfunded $2625 reward started by Sam Hyde for evidence of pedophile tunnels in DC on WeSearchr:

Despite being a self-described comedy podcast, Pod Awful didn’t submit this as a joke. WeSearchr’s submission team told me Pod Awful defended their submission in private communication with WeSearchr. They never once said it was a parody or a joke.
So here’s the thing: none of it is true. I know because I personally went to Washington, D.C. during the day and investigated Pod Awful’s video.
Let’s start with the “underground entrance.” What Pod Awful lets you believe is a side-entrance to the children’s hospital is actually a parking garage entrance for next-door Regency House, a city-run building where almost everyone is a senior and half the people are disabled:
The entrance is clearly the same, with the same light, handrails, stains, and even the same leaf in the corner:
The entrance has nothing to do with Chevy Chase Pediatrics Center, it belongs firmly to the unrelated building next door:
In fact, that parking garage is what the Pod Awful hoaxsters pretend is some kind of abandoned underground area!
I was in there personally and there was no “unbearable stench of death,” like they claimed. It smelled like absolutely nothing except a little car exhaust, like any parking garage. Why would it even smell? It has more than one entrance, including one for vehicles:
Pod Awful deliberately didn’t film anything in the garage that would reveal it as just that — a parking garage. Compare the still from their fake video to my daytime photograph clearly showing markings for residents’ cars:
And the furniture? Pod Awful, with its selective editing, implied the furniture was in some kind of underground area, when in fact it was simply sitting on the street, waiting to be thrown out. Compare Pod Awful’s hoax video with my photograph in the daylight:
The pile of trash furniture was bigger when I came around, but it was undoubtedly the same pile:
I don’t know why Pod Awful thought they could fake a #PizzaGate video and get away with it, and even try to defraud WeSearchr, Sam Hyde, and 20 individual contributors who crowdfunded $2625 for a reward for evidence of actual pedo-tunnels, but maybe they’ll think twice about it in the future.
Using a hoax video to waste the time and money of good people earnestly trying to figure out if there’s a pedophile network operating in our nation’s capital is not a good look.
WeSearchr, founded by GotNews’ editor-in-chief Chuck C. Johnson, is not an amateur enterprise. Chuck’s researchers, like myself, are the best in the world, as you can read in GotNews’ Letter From The Editor. Fraudulent submissions to WeSearchr can and will be found out and exposed publicly.
WeSearchr contributors can rest assured that their money will only ever go to investigators who legitimately satisfied the requirements of a bounty — not hoaxers and fraudsters.
