While Senate candidate Michelle Nunn has tried to portray herself as a moderate Democrat; but campaign documents and materials reveal the extreme left-wing operatives behind her campaign.
GotNews has learned that the leftist super PAC, PowerPAC+ (formerly PAC+), collaborated with GA House Minority leader Rep. Stacey Abrams to ensure that race was focus of Michelle Nunn’s run for Georgia Senate.
Rep. Abrams is also the founder of New Georgia Project, an organization that recently alleged voter fraud in the state. The allegations were unfounded and a lawsuit filed by Abrams, New Georgia Project, and the NAACP was dismissed by a Georgia judge last week.
Left-wing super PAC, PowerPAC+ has publicly endorsed and supported both Michelle Nunn and Stacey Abrams.
A 2013 strategy guide produced by the PAC entitled “The Demographic Revolution: The Path to a Permanent Progressive Majority in America” is clear:
“PAC+ will work closely with our Board member Georgia House Minority Leader Stacey Abrams to build on the grassroots team she’s been developing to recapture the Georgia House in coming years. Stacey’s team can help a promising candidate for Senate make a strong run for the Senate seat.”
Another document by PowerPAC+ entitled “Why Georgia Matters” states specifically that Abrams is partnered with them to elect Nunn:
“PowerPAC+ is working closely with House Minority Leader Stacey Abrams, along with the diverse group of grassroots activists she leads, to rally behind the Democratic Senate campaign of Michelle Nunn and to power civic engagement efforts in Georgia.”
Abrams is a key campaign operative and former colleague of Michelle Nunn, who previously served as Chairman of the Board for Hands on Atlanta.
In addition to her partnership with ultra-progressive PowerPAC+ and her close relationship with Michelle Nunn, GA Rep. Stacey Abrams has strong affiliations with the Metro Atlanta chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). Abrams has been a guest speaker at Atlanta DSA meetings and has helped the socialist organization write bills to “scare the right-wing.”
The leftist super PAC behind Nunn’s campaign, PowerPAC+, is run by Steve Phillips. In this 2012 video, Phillips outlines his PAC’s Progressive plans for Georgia and the upcoming election:
In another video, Phillips is seen praising GOTV efforts to garner Black votes on behalf of Thad Cochran during the controversial Mississippi Republican run-off earlier this year.
Steve Phillips is married to Susan Sandler, daughter of billionaires, Herbert and Marion Sandler (d. 2012). The Sandlers, who provide support to the leftist PowerPAC+, ran World Savings Bank and were notorious players in the 2008 financial crisis. The family also has ties to George Soros and gave millions to ACORN back in its heyday.
In addition to Nunn’s campaign, PowerPAC+ has recently been involved in the events in Ferguson, MO, raising money for “grass roots organizers” and sending its representative, Lulu Matute to the city. In this YouTube interview, Matute defends her presence as an “outside agitator” in Ferguson.
PowerPAC+, a driving force behind Michelle Nunn’s Senate campaign, also created this emotionally charged video entitled “Ferguson is America.”
While Michelle Nunn has worked to convince Georgia voters that she’s a moderate Democrat, behind-the-scenes, her campaign strategy indicates that Nunn and her operatives have a different agenda in mind for Georgia… and extreme leftist agenda.
