MSNBC contributor Malcolm Nance claimed on Joy Reid’s program GotNews founder and editor-in-chief Charles C. Johnson was co-opted by malevolent Russian intelligence figures.
— AM Joy w/Joy Reid (@amjoyshow) August 20, 2017
The context? Johnson’s arranging of a meeting between WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and Vietnam veteran and California Republican Rep. Dana Rohrabacher.
Nance, of course, is the terrorism expert who wrote in a now-deleted tweet ISIS should bomb Trump property in Istanbul, Turkey.
Assange, whom the Left admired when he released videos of gunships gunning down civilians in Iraq and leaked cables from transgender Bradley “Chelsea” Manning, is now the figurehead of the imagined Russian fifth column in the United States. He has emphatically denied that he was involved with Russian intelligence when leaking emails from the Democratic National Committee, which showed that party leadership rigged their primaries against Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.
There has not been a single modicum of truth that Assange was, or is, in any way involved with Russia. His alleged involvement with Russians was never brought up by the Bush or Obama administrations, despite both being openly hostile to WikiLeaks. In fact, it only seems that someone becomes a “Russian operative” once they run afoul of the Democratic establishment and their cronies in the fake news media.
The same could be said for Charles C. Johnson. Articles go back to 2013 and 2014, describing him as a cackling goblin or a mischievous troll. A Forbes article from early 2017 stated: “A troll outside Trump Tower Is Helping to Pick Your Next Government.” Of course, he was not referred to as a Russian spy. He had been on the bad side of the establishment for many years, but when he decides to go against the MSM narrative that Russia is a hostile power that wields unduly and Svengali-like power over our President, he suddenly becomes a Russian deep-cover operative.
Let’s not be ridiculous. Let’s face the truth. Neither Assange nor Johnson are Russian agents. They have not been funded, co-opted, or aided by Russia. They are people who disagree with the narrative that Russia controls America, a narrative with no factual basis.
We weren’t aware that being a skeptic, or wishing for better international relations, or even pursuing the truth was a crime.
If the Left wants to attack, label, and defame us for going against their narratives, we’ll accept that burden. If they want to label us as collaborators with some malevolent entity, we’ll fight to prove them wrong.
Of course, MSNBC hysterically claiming Russian boogeymen “hacked” the election should come as no surprise. Russian intelligence did not change vote tallies in the 2016 election but triggered leftists such as Rachel Maddow and Joe Scarborough have only ratcheted up their lies.
William Ernest Henley wrote in his masterful poem, Invictus: “My head is bloody, but unbowed.” Let’s take a page from his playbook. We will never bow our heads. No matter what they call us, no matter how the Alt-Left lashes out, we will keep on keeping on.
Stay tuned for more.
