The mainstream media were already lying to start a war with Russia way back in 2014, a new look at translations reveals.
You might think all this Putin/Russia hysteria around Donald Trump is new, but it was pretty bad in 2014 already.
Take the example of Anne Applebaum, a Washington Post columnist who wrote a piece titled ‘War in Europe is not a hysterical idea’ back in August 2014.
Applebaum suggested that Ukrainians, and possibly central Europeans (read: NATO, which includes the USA), should “mobilize” for “total war” because of Russia.
As evidence for this suggestion, she said this:
A few days ago, Alexander Dugin, an extreme nationalist whose views have helped shape those of the Russian president, issued an extraordinary statement. “Ukraine must be cleansed of idiots,” he wrote — and then called for the “genocide” of the “race of bastards.”
Leaving aside the fact that Dugin — a fringe philosopher — has very questionable “influence” over the Kremlin, did he really say that?
Did he really insult and call for the genocide of Ukrainians like Applebaum is implying?
Applebaum cites this tweet for evidence:
Leonid Ragozin is a Lonely Planet author and “ex-BBC and Russian Newsweek” according to his bio. Surely he speaks Russian well enough to understand the quote by Dugin.
Except Dugin didn’t insult Ukrainians or call for their genocide, he said the complete opposite as an independent GotNews translation shows:
Ukraine should be cleansed of idiots. Genocide of cretins is practically begging to happen. Evil cretins, closed to the voice of Logos, deadly and… before all else incredibly stupid. I do not believe that those are Ukrainians. Ukrainians are a beautiful Slavic nation. Those are that one race of bastards that appeared out of the sewers.

Ragozin and Applebaum either outright claim or heavily imply that Dugin hates Ukrainians, insults them, and wants a genocide committed against them.
In fact, Dugin said Ukrainians are “a beautiful Slavic nation” and that he does not believe Ukrainians are the “cretins” or “idiots” he wants to see cleansed.
Should Ukraine and central Europe mobilize for total war — with U.S. help undoubtedly — because a fringe Russian philosopher said Ukraine needs to be cleansed of cretins and idiots?
Don’t we all want to be cleansed of cretins and idiots?
Don’t be fooled by the lying media’s claims about Russia and Donald Trump.
